Your support of your regional trade association provides you immediate access to industry information and enhances the impact of the Northwest industry in presenting issues from a strong, unified base to regional and national policymakers.

Because we support members here in the Northwest on issues that impact local hydropower development and operation, NWHA provides a unique service that complements your participation in national associations.
Through our publications, conferencesoperation & maintenance seminars and other activities, NWHA can provide you with pertinent local information to enhance your commitment to the hydropower industry--an industry key to the nation's energy future. 

NWHA has three membership levels available. There is a membership category for large generators/companies with over 10 employees, small generators (under 10MW total capacity)/companies with under 10 employees, and new in 2023, a sole proprietor category for individuals.

COMMUNICATIONS

NWHA provides a monthly electronic newsletter to members capturing issues in the region. The association is also setting up an online forum for special topics of interest and state issues to connect members to have meaningful communications with each other. 


CONFERENCES & SEMINARS

​Attend NWHA sponsored conferences and seminars at membership discounted registrations prices. Events include, the Annual Conference, the Fall Regional Event, Workshops including Technical, Policy Issues, Operations & Maintenance, Small Hydro, Pumped Storage, Environmental, and Training.


PUBLIC EDUCATION PROGRAM 

NWHA is striving to provide education and advocacy regarding the benefits of hydropower in the Northwest through resources aimed at engaging with the general public, educators and our elected officials. 


GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS PROGRAM

 NWHA has represented the hydro industry as a non-profit trade association since 1981. We are dedicated to the promotion of the region's waterpower potential as a clean, efficient, renewable resource which can be developed to provide long-term, safe energy from projects which are technically and economically sound. We support members to have a collective voice on issues that matter to us all.
